This is a new independent and bilingual bookstore offering a discerning and wide selection of books in the area of religion, spirituality and topics of general interest.

NB: Hinton location is now permanently closed.

Canterbury House at 97 Hinton Avenue North in Ottawa will permanently close to the public on Saturday August 12/06 at 5 pm.

The gradual (a very important word!) re-birth of Canterbury House will start at St. Paul University on Monday August 14/06.

Contact details for the new book store will be published here on Friday, August 11/06.

Please be assured that Canterbury House clients will be served at Saint Paul University. The new dynamic will start to take shape starting August 14/06. It will be a gradual process and we request your patience, and thank you in advance for it.

"An Inconvenient Truth" Documentary

In light of the current Anglican Diocesan Stewardship Development Initiative, and overall environmental concerns, I highly recommend that before the summer "popcorn" movies dominate movie theatres, that you see An Inconvenient Truth , the documentary on global warming.

Regardless of your politics, you must see this film.

The world must see this film.

Independent, and Important, films such as this one have the risk of being knocked out of movie theatres ... and soon.

So, to help you out, go to http://ottawa.film-can.com/cgi-bin/main/mview.cgi?FID=INC-9 for theatres and show times in the Ottawa-area.

At most theatres, the most affordable tickets are for Tuesday screenings, at anytime of the day.

It's also my understanding that 5% of all ticket sales go to an environmental charity.

There's also a recently published book of the same name authored by Al Gore, which I hope the new store at St. Paul U will have when it is set-up in a couple of months.

Canterbury House's Post-Christmas Sale Starts TODAY (Wed Dec 28) at 9:30 am:

Many items at post-Christmas prices, such as Christmas cards, Christmas wrap, Christmas decorations, 2006 Calendars (some exceptions)

A few of our suppliers wanted to reduce their Christmas stock also, and we took advantage of their generosity by importing special deals, including many children's Christmas titles.

Therefore, some of these specially imported deals are already at great prices, and have no need to be further reduced, in our estimation.

Some of the reduced retail prices are as low as one dollar for these special imports.
